1. Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how TechKhedut Inc. (“TechKhedut”, “we”, “our” or “us”) handles information when you use GPS Field Area Measurement (the “App”) on iOS or Android. It applies only to the App; our website is covered by the TechKhedut website privacy policy.
The App does not require you to create an account, and we do not ask for your name, email address or phone number to use it. By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

- Location on your termsRequested only for location features, and changeable anytime in settings.
- Your measurements stay on your deviceBoundaries, saved files, offline maps and photos are stored locally.

3. Information we collect
Information processed to provide features
- Location data — precise or approximate location, when you allow it, to show your position on the map, centre the map for measuring, and power GPS Coordinates, the GPS Compass, Elevation, offline maps and the location stamps on GPS Map Camera and GPS Notecam photos.
- Map areas and search queries — the map areas you view or download for offline use, and the places or coordinates you search for, so the map imagery and results can be returned.
- Measurements you create — the points, boundaries, routes, waypoints, areas, distances, names and units of your measurements, stored on your device.
- Camera and photos — images you capture with the GPS Map Camera or GPS Notecam, and notes you add to them. Photos are saved to your device; we do not upload them.
- Sensor readings — compass, magnetometer and motion sensor readings used for heading, bearing and the GPS Compass. They are processed on your device.
- Files you import — KML, KMZ, GPX, GeoJSON or CSV files you choose to open, read on your device to show their boundaries, routes and waypoints. See Imported & exported files.
- Settings — your preferred units, map type and other preferences, stored on your device.
Information collected automatically
- Device and usage information — device model, operating system, app version, language, approximate region, feature usage and in-app events, collected through analytics tools.
- Diagnostics — crash logs and performance data that help us find and fix problems.
- Advertising identifiers — in the free version, your device's advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS, Advertising ID on Android) where permitted, used by our advertising partners. See Advertising.
Information you give us
If you contact support, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message, such as a screenshot or a file you choose to attach, and use it only to respond to you.
4. Device permissions
The App asks for a permission only when you use a feature that needs it. You can grant, deny or revoke any permission in your device settings; features that depend on a denied permission will not work, but the rest of the App will. You can still measure areas and distances by tapping points on the map without sharing your location.
| Permission | Why the App uses it |
|---|---|
| Location | Your position on the map, GPS Coordinates, GPS Compass, Elevation, offline maps and location stamps on photos. |
| Camera | Taking location-stamped photos with the GPS Map Camera and GPS Notecam. |
| Photos / media library | Saving stamped photos to your device, and choosing a photo from your gallery where the App offers it. |
| Files / storage | Opening files you choose to import, and saving or sharing the measurement files you export. |
| Motion & sensors | Heading and bearing for the GPS Compass, map orientation and photo stamps. |
| Network access | Loading map imagery, downloading offline maps, elevation and address lookups, ads and analytics. |
| App tracking (iOS) | Asking whether ads may use your advertising identifier across apps. |
5. How we use information
- To provide and operate App features you request, such as maps, area and distance measuring, offline maps, GPS tools, photo stamps, converters and file import and export.
- To maintain, secure and improve the App, including diagnosing crashes and understanding which features are used.
- To show advertising in the free version and to measure ad performance.
- To manage Pro subscription access and restore purchases.
- To respond to your support requests.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms & Conditions.
We do not sell your personal information for money, and we do not use your location, measurements or field boundaries to build advertising profiles.
6. Service providers & third parties
We share information only as needed with service providers that help us run the App, under contracts or terms that limit how they use it:
- Map and satellite imagery providers — receive the map area you are viewing or downloading, and your approximate location, to return standard, satellite and terrain map tiles.
- Geocoding and elevation data providers — receive coordinates to return a place name or address (for example on photo stamps and saved locations) and elevation readings.
- Analytics and crash-reporting providers — receive device, usage and diagnostic information.
- Advertising partners — see Advertising.
- Apple and Google — process in-app subscriptions and may provide related transaction data.
When you share an exported file or photo, it goes to the app, service or person you choose, under their privacy terms.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect the rights, safety or property of our users or others, or as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, in which case this policy will continue to apply.
7. Advertising
The free version of the App displays ads served by third-party ad networks (such as Google AdMob). These partners may collect device identifiers, IP address, approximate location and ad-interaction data to deliver, limit and measure ads and, where you allow it, to personalise them.
- iOS: ads use your advertising identifier across apps only if you allow tracking in the App Tracking Transparency prompt. You can change this in Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking.
- Android: you can reset or delete your Advertising ID, or opt out of personalised ads, in Settings › Privacy › Ads.
- EEA, UK and Switzerland: we ask for your consent before personalised ads are shown, and you can change your choice in the App's settings.
Under some US state laws, using identifiers for targeted advertising may be treated as “sharing”. You can opt out using the device settings above. Upgrading to Pro removes ads.
8. Subscriptions & payments
Pro subscriptions are purchased and managed through the Apple App Store or Google Play. We never receive or store your card or bank details. Apple or Google may share limited transaction information with us, such as a purchase token, product, status and renewal date, so we can unlock Pro features and restore purchases.
9. Imported & exported files
- Files you import (KML, KMZ, GPX, GeoJSON or CSV) are opened and read on your device. We do not upload their contents to our servers.
- Files you export (KML, KMZ, GPX, GeoJSON, PDF or SVG) are created on your device and contain the boundary, points, measurements and name you chose. They leave your device only when you save them to a cloud location or share them.
- Exported files and stamped photos can include precise coordinates and addresses. Think about who you share them with, as anyone who receives them can see those locations.
10. Storage & retention
- Measurements, saved and imported files, offline maps, photos, notes and settings are stored locally on your device. Deleting them in the App or uninstalling the App removes them, except for files and photos you have saved elsewhere, such as your Files app, gallery or cloud drive.
- Analytics and crash data are kept by our providers only for as long as needed for the purposes above, in line with their retention settings, unless a longer period is required by law.
- Support emails are kept for as long as needed to resolve your request and for our records.
11. Your choices & rights
- Permissions: turn location, camera, photos, files and sensor access on or off in your device settings.
- Ads: manage tracking and ad personalisation as described in Advertising, or upgrade to Pro.
- Local data: delete measurements, saved files and offline maps in the App, or uninstall the App.
- Your rights: depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, UK GDPR, India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act or US state laws), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or port your personal data, to object to or restrict processing, and to withdraw consent. To make a request, email support@techkhedut.com. We will respond within the time required by applicable law. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.
12. Children's privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
13. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) to our service providers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
14. International transfers
TechKhedut is based in India, and our service providers may process information in other countries. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses, for these transfers.
15. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page with a new “Last updated” date and, for significant changes, let you know in the App.
